Welcome to Seawordy!
The little woman on the right is Phoebe, and she’s the star of two books and the host of a blog. Phoebe is our interpretation of baby boomer women – strong, capable, and with the necessary good sense of humor to get through the situations life throws at you!

Phoebe started with one little book about baby boomer women. Entitled Lest We Forget: A Salute to the Women Who Entered Corporate America Without a Road Map, this charmingly illustrated book tells of the challenges these women faced when establishing their careers in 50 short pages. Written from countless interviews, “Lest We Forget” has quickly developed a broad appeal. It has been nominated for an Amelia Bloomer award, and has led to numerous glass ceiling presentations at women’s initiatives. To view a trailer about the book, click here.
Thumbs Down to This Woman
Quoting directly from the July 27 issue of The Week, my favorite news magazine — this makes me boil!
”The former mistress of a Nassau County, NY, police officer is suing the county, claiming his supervisors should have stopped him fromsleeping with her. Tara Obenauer, 42, a Wall Street executive, says the department was “negligent” for not knowing Officer Mike Tedesco often visited her home while on duty, and that the affair caused her “severe and substantial emotional damage.” A lawyer for the county said the claim “defies Imagination.”
Defies my imagination, too.

“For any woman who came through the corporate ranks in the 60s, 70s and in many cases the 80s, Lest We Forget, written and illustrated with gentle but subtly biting humor by Louise Rothery, will bring laughter and tears. And for our younger corporate sisters who take so many things for granted – this is how it was!”
